Yesterday we arrived in Annecy by train from Amberieu-en-bugey after a short ride from Perouges. This is a very pretty city with lots of small canals and lake front parks .. full of restaurants and full of tourists! We enjoyed walking around and watching the people and taking in the views of Lake Annecy and the surrounding hills.
This morning we road out along the bike path along the lake to Albertville .. about 45km and mostly down! Lots of cyclists along the route which was fun to see.
Albertville is a nice quiet town with good access to a number of good rides! When we arrived, we sat down in the Olympic square on a bench and had lunch .. Then we checked in to our hotel and left our bags and went for a ride! We climbed up to Bonvillard to a high point of 750m then turned around and descended back to Albertville finding some quiet roads into town. It was nice to get some climbing in .. The legs felt great!
Tomorrow looks like a rain day .. then maybe Col de Madeleine on Sunday or Monday!
