We can't believe the fabulous blue skies we get here but it still takes just one farmer burning some clippings to fill the valley with a disagreeable smoke! C'est la vie!
We had our morning coffee in Xalo to give us legs for the 8km climb to the Puerto de Bernia at 620m. Lunch at a restaurant at elevation before the dramatic drop on the other side at 17% on a number of twisting pitches before finally dropping to the valley floor and a smooth fast road back to Xalo. Then it was our favourite climb to Pedreguer and an easy ride in to Denia and home.
We are really enjoying the disk brakes on these bikes! They are almost mandatory on some of these pitches! You never have to worry about sand/gravel getting caught in the pads and they stop pretty quick with little effort on hairpin turns!
It was a great ride today and this time we had clear skies and a good view of Calpe in the distance with natural and man-made skyscrapers!
We are counting down the days now! We will transport to Valencia Tuesday and fly home Wednesday!
